December 16 Saturday

[I was outside shovelling snow when Alan called at 11:30. I was surprised to hear from him since he was supposed to be downtown all weekend. He said that George London was going up north so he came home. There had been quite a party at London's apartment and Alan hadn't slept all night [I'm so embarrassed]. I talked to him for a while about what Lesley told me on Friday. We finally decided to go to Fairview + Alan's father would pick me up on St John's by Sedgefield. Dave would meet us at Fairview later because he was taking the bus from Dollard. At 2 pm Alan called [to say] they were leaving + I got picked up].Got a ride to Fairview with the old man, picked up Ralph. Got jeans, met Don [and he told us that no buses were running because of the snow. Alan decided to take a taxi].. Sat on the stairs near the phones [He [me] called up Dave + he [Dave] said the buses weren't running in Dollard either. Alan told him to walk and be under the clock at 20 to 5. When Dave arrived Alan called a taxi but they said it would take at least an hour to get to Fairview. That was too late].. At 5 met Dave and Christine. Christine left. Ralph, Don, Dave and I walked to the Apothecary and got a drive to my place with my old man. Sat in the reckroom. I was babysitting [my sister Karen]. [Alan, Dave and Don all had those round John Player's packages (Alan's were bought). (Funny, I only remember them from the fall of 1973)] Smoked some weed in the basement. Don left about 8, [Don left at 9 + left his cigarettes behind. Alan kept emptying my (Don's) pack [obviously an expression of my early antipathy towards capitalist running dog concepts of private property] and we got into a bit of a fight. Nothing too thrilling happened. Thought up food to go along with everyone's names [which almost explains the marginal note: "Fanny Hill Cookbook"]. Sat in the reckroom, they left at 11.

December 17 Sunday

Ralph came over about 1, sat in the basement. [Sat around for a while and then Don called and said he was coming over to pick up his cigarettes. Alan bugged me until Don came over about how Don would kill me when he found out I took 4 [cigarettes]. Don brought a friend- Alan- and he didn't say a thing about the cigarettes [whew!]]. Don and a guy came, talked. Dave and Diane came. Don and Co. left about 3:30. Frizzed our hair with 'Alphonse' (Diane's brush). Looked at icky insect books, listened to my Led Zeppelin tape [April 13, 1970]. [We watched 2 movies- the Alice Cooper one + the Sept-Oct/72 one. Don left at around 4. Dave ordered a pizza and it came while Alan was eating dinner upstairs. Diane wasn't eating [tripping again?] so me + Dave split a small pizza. Nothing too thrilling happened [how often does that phrase pop up in here?] after that [nor before that, with the possible exception of the threat of death hanging over my head as I awaited Don's arrival] and Dave's father picked us up at 9:30]. They left at 9:30.
