saw the movie 'H.R. Puffinstuff' at Fairview with Sheila
and her sister Cathy.
Fairview was built in 1965, and was a large indoor mall
of over 60 stores. Built around a large central corridor,
it had fountains at each end at the entrances to the
largest department stores: Simpson's and Eaton's. At
the center of the mail was an information desk and large
suspended clock.
Across the west parking lot outside Eaton's was Fairview
Cimema, with two theatres.
July
10-26
family vacation in Miscoka, Ontario [this turned
out to be the last one our family would take together].
Music that summer: Jimi Hendrix, Grand Funk Railroad,
the soundtrack of 'Woodstock', Led Zeppelin (who's first
album I had bought that summer).
Spent some nights in Kingsman Park with Sheila and her
friend Liz Haden.
I talked to and saw Scott Nixon (from Grade 7) a few
times in the summer.
 From
August 5th to September 6th took over a neighbouring
kid's (Bill Wood) Gazette route.
Grade 8 began September 9th. I couldn't wait, I'd see
Laine again. I was so disappointed to discover he wasn't
in any of my classes. Luckily Sheila was. School uniforms
were abolished this year.
Jimi Hendrix died September 18th, just as I was discovering
how good he was.
September
27 Sunday
CFOX Mini Pop Festival at the Pointe Claire
Arena, from 3 to 9:30. Laine was there. [My comment: "cool"]. |
